New Year

Another Christmas/New Year gone hope you all had a good one. I have not done anything constructive to the build recently due to illness. It was what my Doctor called a bad month, ME/CFS is not pleasent to have. Up until a three years ago I would, like most, have said that it's not a real illness. Having now had it for several years it's a different story, I'm now so knackered that even simple things like walking the dog wipes me out. My employer terminated my contract due to illness so I'm not sure how I will fund the rest of the build. On the bright side I still have a lot to do on the chassis, I have also got the materials to make the wishbones so I'm not to bothered at the mo as I have enough work to keep me going for a while. The plan is hopefull a rolling chassis by the end of the summer.

Rich,

Just been looking at your build. It's looking good. We have just sold our stuart taylor & I'm just thinking what I should do next. One of my problems with our build was seeing through my welding mask (old type)
I might try a paraweld.
I understand how you must feel with ME/CFS my wife had it several years ago & realy struggled.
One thing she did benefit from was a drink / mineral supplement called carnation build up,(now Nestle Buildup) she had it every day for months & she felt an improvement from it.

Keep up the good work

Regards

Mick

Hi Mick
As you can see I have not done very much for a while but now that the weather is turning warmer I hope to venture out in the garage a bit more. Sorry to hear about your wife, hope she is getting better, it's a very little understood ilness and sometimes people don't accept that you are ill. At the moment I am taking multi vitamins and eating lots of fruit and cereal which seems to help a bit.

If you do decied to go for a Roadster check out the Haynes Forum http://www.haynes.co.uk/forums/index.php , their a mad bunch but very helpfull.

Hi Rich,

Build is looking good so far, keep up the good work, my next project is likely to be a Haynes Roadster, I have a Rover V8 waiting for a project in my garage.
Sorry to hear about your ME/CFS, my ex-wife had it in the early 90's, a high protein diet helped for a quick boost, but eventually was treated for cronic hyperventilation. The symptoms are the same & the specialist we spoke to at the time said that over 95% of his ME patients were cured with no drugs, just small lifestyle changes, ie posture, breathing exercises and a change to walking style, amongst other things. My ex made just about a 100% recovery over a few long months.

keep up the good work, looking forward to your next post.
